Windows (Mobile 10 ?) mentioned in LinkedIn account.

Windows Mobile was dead long ago and replaced by Microsoft's new Windows Phone in October 2010.
This could all be a misunderstanding, but the LinkedIn profile of a Program Manager at Microsoft lists him as currently working on Windows Mobile 10 ?

What makes it seem less like a slip of the tongue, few sentences earlier the same person claims to have worked on the Windows Phone 8.1 update
.
Earlier info pointed to a unified “Windows 10″ platform that will power everything from phones to computers and in between. We’ll get more info at a dedicated event at the end of January (there will be no Windows 10 talk at CES), hopefully Microsoft will clear up any branding questions then.

For what it’s worth, it’s most likely a typo – Microsoft has spent so much time and money building up the Windows Phone brand it will be silly to kill it in favor of “Windows Mobile”, which barely anyone remembers.

Alcatel’s new Pixi smartphone line runs Android, Windows Phone and Firefox OS

Alcatel OneTouch announced a new smartphones today that run either Windows Phone, Android or Firefox OS.

The company’s new Pixi 3 device series, which comes in four sizes — 3.5″, 4″, 4.5″ and 5″ — will have versions running three operating systems to ensure synergy with the devices customers use at home. The idea is to create a single hardware SKU that is flexible enough to load one of three operating systems, but Alcatel wants to clarify that it won’t be possible to purchase a single smartphone that runs all three; users must choose their favourite operating system prior to purchase.

The three larger devices will connect to LTE networks and sport more high-end specs (though the specifics haven’t been revealed), while the 3.5-inch version will run 3G.

Alcatel is likely bringing back the Palm brand to use in its smartphones, but the Pixi line, which was announced earlier this year, has no specific affiliation despite using the same name as an older webOS device. Alcatel wants the Pixi series to be “affordable” and “flexible,” appealing to users who “do not want complicated systems.”

More about the series will be revealed at CES next week.

LG is working on Windows Phone

LG hasn’t released a Windows Phone in years, but the company may finally be working on a new Windows Phone. A new survey by AdDuplex reveals that the South Korean firm is testing a Windows Phone device with the model number LGVW820.

According to AdDuplex, the new device packs a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of just 480 x 854 pixels. So this might be a very early test model, or LG is planning to target the low-cost market with its new smartphone.
Still, the news comes as a pretty big surprise. It’s possible the South Korean company could try again with Windows Phone 8.1 or even hold till the Windows 10 OS launch.

Might be, the LGVW820 may just be another side project that never sees the light of day. Last year one image of an alleged LG Uni8 running Windows Phone 8.1 made some glimpse but failed to materialize, and it’s possible the same thing could happen again.

Microsoft

Hello everyone!

I'm Kamaldeep Pahal a Master of Computer Application student at MERI (GGSIPU)

How Microsoft impacted my life

I was 9 when i first got an access to a computer when some flying flags on monitor (Windows screensaver) got my attention. i was told to wait for few minutes to see it again. That little moment of childhood made me curious about computers , after a brief version of hardware introduction i moved a mouse. "i was like HURRAYYY it is moving on screen, i made a computer to do that it was just astonishing"
further more Paint & Word(write my name) made me a busy computer user at that age.

Since those golden days i am a fan of Microsoft the way it brought revolution in PC world. Success has been a way of life for the man the world knows as Bill Gates with his vision to see every business and household must have a computer and must run Microsoft software. He has been an shining source of inspiration to me every time i use a Microsoft product/service that brings a digital revolution in the world through its easy to use software delights. Now with best in class XBOX Gaming consoles , Surface Tablets & Windows Phones.
Microsoft's MSDN & Webcast events helped me a lot to be a Windows Phone app developer.
Microsoft motivates me to not to just buy a video game > make one
don't just download apps > help develop it.
sit down and make something completely new from scratch.
do things that was previously not impossible due to limited technology of that time.
present generation is ONLINE and curious towards technology.

Microsoft's software & services are really about humanity and helping people by using computer technology.
Microsoft technology touches every part of our life from a developer tool "Visual Studio/Azure" to a consumer products "Windows/Surface/XBOX/Bing" to Business softwares & services "Office365/Outlook/Onedrive" Microsoft created technology that changed the way we work & play.

Being a Microsoft Student Associate the changes i would like to bring in society...

In this era of Computer science and technology ,computers are really incredibly empowering tool to learn, so it is necessary to be updated with latest and greatest technological trends in the market.
MSA would be a great chance for me to inject awareness about the Microsoft technology around me.

learning computer skills is not just important for us , it is important for the future growth & development of our country. As computers have evolved to be really a big part of our society to handle every aspect of our lifes.

It is a matter of fact that everything require some form of computing i would encourage my colleagues & society to get their work done with technology provided by Microsoft.

Things that i would like to do :

1.Organizing presentations and seminars for   students.
2.Practical Hands-on-Keyboard coding sessions.
3.Interactive Online competitions and events so that people would get aware.
4.Provide every possible Microsoft related  assistance.
5.Testing our ideas stimulating with each other thats what make us successful.

Magic happens when we all are on the same page collaborating and building something great for humanity therefore blank wall just got replaced into bunch of doors when mind strikes, then we just have to open enough doors to light comes in.
